Privacy Policy

Overview

Colordrop does not require an account, does not show ads, and does not use third-party analytics or tracking. The colors, palettes, projects, and metadata you create belong to you and stay within your devices and your personal iCloud account.

What Colordrop stores

When you capture a color, Colordrop saves the color values along with optional metadata such as the capture date, a reference to the source material, custom names and token names you enter, and, if you allow location access, where the color was captured. This data is stored on your device.

iCloud sync

If iCloud is enabled, your library syncs across your devices using Apple's iCloud service, tied to your personal Apple Account. This data is not accessible to the developer. Apple's own privacy terms govern iCloud storage.

Camera, photos, and location

• Camera: used only to show the live view while you capture colors. Camera frames are processed on device and are not stored or transmitted.
• Photos: Colordrop reads photos you choose so you can pick colors from them. It does not scan or upload your photo library.
• Location: if you grant permission, the capture location is saved with a color so it can appear on the map view. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time in Settings; colors then save without a location.

Spotlight and Shortcuts

To make your colors searchable from Spotlight and usable in Shortcuts, Colordrop shares limited color information with these system features on your device. This stays under Apple's on-device indexing and automation frameworks.

What the developer sees

Nothing, unless you send it. If you email support, the developer receives what you include in the message. Basic, anonymised crash and usage statistics may be provided by Apple through App Store Connect, only if you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your device settings.
